We custom fabricate and install new chimney caps in order to preserve the chimney long term.

When brick masons build chimneys, they apply what’s called a cement mortar wash to the top of the chimney to shed water. Over the years the mortar washes crack and let water infiltrate the top of chimney.

When the weather turns cold the water sometimes freezes which continues to break apart the mortar wash which allows more water to gain access to the cavity of the chimney which can slowly deteriorate the bricks and brick faces.

We custom fabricate and install new chimney caps frequently in order to preserve the chimney long term vs a new mortar wash or coating which will just deteriorate again.
